In 2002, a small group of changemakers started a humble journey with a single mission: to help rural women harness technology for livelihoods. What began as a community-based effort soon evolved into something far larger to create sustainable happiness - connecting people, knowledge, and innovations to transform lives - a movement to help India’s indigenous wisdom bridge with modern science.
Indigenous and Frontier Technology Research Centre (IFTR), as an institution we don’t innovate. We prefer to co-create solutions with communities, stakeholders, ecosystem players, experts, and institutions, making them partners in progress.
📌 2002–2014 – Grassroots beginnings: CBO for women, simple interventions in villages.
📌 2015 – Transformation into IFTR: registered with NITI Aayog, hosted the first farmer meetings.
📌 2017 –Outreach: Collaboration with like-minded institutions; GuideStar accreditation.
📌 2021–2022 – Partnerships with Toolbox, Rotary, TREC-STEP. CSR implementation approvals received.
📌 2023–2025 – Scaling up: farmer training, solar technology dissemination, Jawadhu Hills development, rural school labs, health & nutrition programs, national awards.

Introduced Sustainable Agricultural Practices to the farmers including helping them understand their soil, climate, crops, soil enrichment using bio-inputs - biofertilizers, Panchagavya, biochar, humic and fish liquid fertilizer, organic manures, bio manure crops, for sustainable agriculture. Help farmers understand the use of traditional paddy varieties to ensure food security.
Created awareness and trained thousands of farmers in natural farming, productivity improvement, and entrepreneurship.
